How to set up V2rayN on Windows

V2rayN Introduction

v2rayN is a powerful proxy client for Windows. It supports multiple proxy protocols, including VMess, VLESS, Trojan, Socks, Shadowsocks, and more. By following the tips in this 2025 Quick Start Tutorial, you can quickly and easily configure proxy protocols for proxy access.

Software directory

1.After the download is complete, find a suitable directory. It is recommended to install it in a non-system disk and unzip the compressed package. The unzipped directory is as shown in the figure below.

2.Find the main program v2rayN.exe and double-click the left mouse button to start using it. After the program is started, it will be minimized to the task tray in the small right corner. Double-click the small blue V icon to open the main interface of the software, as shown below:

v2rayN Subscription Setup Tutorial

Some proxy servers often provide a subscription address, which can be used to import node information by subscription.

1.Select "Subscription Group" - "Subscription Group Settings" in the upper left corner, as shown below:

2.Click Add in the pop-up window, as shown below:

3.In the subscription group, fill in the Remarks' and 'URL(optional)' with the subscription link of your overseas transit node, then click 'Confirm'

4.After adding, click on the subscription group on the main interface of the software, then click 'Update Subscriptions without proxy' to successfully use the subscription address and add node information, as shown in the image below.

5.Select the corresponding transfer node, right-click it, click Set as Active Profile (Enter), select V3 Global for Routing, and select Set system proxy.

6.After the overseas transit node is built, visit foreign websites, such as youtube.com. If you can access it normally, it means that the transit node is successfully built.
